What are the symptoms?

  • Seizures

  • Headaches

  • Weakness or numbness in the limbs

  • Vision problems

  • Difficulty speaking or understanding speech

  • Balance problems

What else could it be? (Differential diagnosis)

  • Brain tumor

  • Stroke

  • Aneurysm

  • Multiple sclerosis

What are the aggravating factors?

  • Family history (genetic predisposition)

  • Head trauma or injury

  • High blood pressure (can worsen bleeding)

  • Certain medications (e.g., blood thinners)

What types of food are helpful?

  • Anti-inflammatory foods: Omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants (berries, leafy greens).

  • Adequate hydration: Supports brain function and overall health.

  • Low-sodium diet: To reduce the risk of blood vessel rupture in the brain.

Sample Recipe: Chia Seed Pudding with Mixed Berries

  • Ingredients: Chia seeds, almond milk, mixed berries.

  • Directions: Soak chia seeds in almond milk overnight and top with fresh berries for a      nutrient-packed breakfast.

What are the traditional treatments?

  • Surgical removal: If the malformation is causing significant symptoms or bleeding.

  • Medication: Anticonvulsants to manage seizures.

  • Observation: If the malformation is asymptomatic, regular monitoring with MRIs may be      recommended.

What are the natural and alternative treatments?

  • Curcumin (turmeric): Known for its anti-inflammatory properties, it may help reduce inflammation around the cavernoma.

  • Ginkgo biloba: May help improve circulation and support brain health, but caution is advised as it could interact with blood-thinning medications.

  • Acupuncture: Used in some cases to reduce symptoms like headaches or neurological      issues.
