Uterine Cancer
What is it?
Uterine cancer, also known as endometrial cancer, begins in the lining of the uterus (endometrium). It is the most common cancer of the female reproductive system.

What are the symptoms?
Abnormal vaginal bleeding, particularly after menopause.
Pain in the pelvis or abdomen.
Unexplained weight loss.
Painful urination or bleeding during urination.
Pain during intercourse.
What else could it be? (Differential diagnosis)
Uterine fibroids: Non-cancerous growths that can cause similar symptoms.
Endometrial hyperplasia: Thickening of the uterine lining, which can be a precursor to uterine cancer.
Ovarian cysts: May also cause pelvic discomfort or bleeding.
What are the aggravating factors?
Obesity: Increases the risk due to excess estrogen in the body.
Age: Women over 50 are at a higher risk.
Hormonal imbalance: Excess estrogen without progesterone can increase risk.
Family history: A family history of uterine or ovarian cancer increases the risk.
What types of food are helpful?
Increase fiber: A diet high in fiber may reduce cancer risk by helping regulate hormones.
Limit processed foods: Reduce the intake of processed meats and high-fat foods.
Antioxidant-rich foods: Berries, leafy greens, and nuts help reduce oxidative stress.
Healthy fats: Omega-3 fatty acids (found in fish, flaxseeds, walnuts) may reduce inflammation.
What are the traditional treatments?
Surgery: Hysterectomy (removal of the uterus) is often the primary treatment.
Radiation therapy: May be used to target remaining cancer cells.
Chemotherapy: In cases where the cancer has spread beyond the uterus.
Hormonal therapy: Progestins can be used to control estrogen-driven cancer growth.
What are the natural and alternative treatments?
Turmeric: Contains curcumin, which has anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer properties.
Green tea: Rich in polyphenols, which have been studied for their anti-cancer effects.
Flaxseeds: Contain lignans, which may help regulate estrogen levels.
